Stay in the Loop With Hevy’s Live Activity

Hevy comes with a live activity widget for iOS and Android, allowing you to see workout details like what the next activity is, how many sets you’ve done on the current activity, and what your prescribed weight and reps are:

You can also see how long you’ve been training and mark set as completed without unlocking your phone or opening the app:

Once you mark a set as complete and trigger the rest timer, it appears on the live activity widget, making it more convenient to monitor your recovery while using other apps on your phone or keeping it locked. You can increase or decrease the rest timer in 15-second increments or skip it altogether.

Once the rest timer reaches zero, Hevy notifies you:

How to Use Hevy’s Live Activity

iOS

First, ensure that live activity is enabled for your phone. Navigate to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Enter your passcode and scroll to Allow Access When Locked. Use the toggle button to activate Live Activities.

Then, navigate to Notifications, find Hevy, and enable the types of notifications you want to get:

The live activity widget will appear when you log a workout in Hevy. You can access it by swiping down from the top left of the screen (useful when using another app) or tapping on your screen while your phone is locked.

Android

Navigate to the notification settings and enable them for Hevy. Select the lock screen, badge, and pop-up notifications.

With these enabled, you will access the live activity widget, where you can track your rest timer and see workout details like the current exercise, what set is next, and how many reps you should do.

Like on iOS, these will be available when you swipe down from the top of the screen or tap on your screen while the phone is locked.

Best workout tracking app

This is by far my favorite workout tracking app. You can tell that the creators work out themselves because they know how important it is to be able to label drop sets, failure sets, supersets, etc. It allows me to track everything I need. When if it’s been a while since I did an exercise I can easily take a look at my history.

Kept Me Accountable

I have been using this app since January. I love it. It’s the thing that had kept me in the gym this year because it helps me see results. I love how it syncs with my watch and I can input the weight and reps on my watch or phone. I appreciate that it supplies workouts for different splits so I don’t need to pay for a trainer. I love how it holds the last rep and weight from the previous time I did the exercise.

Really helpful illustrations

My focus now is on building functional strength to avoid injuries as I age. Coming back to lifting as an adult with moderate gym anxiety, the Hevy app has helped me track progress on my weights and allowed me to make intelligent choices about increasing the amount I’m lifting. I really appreciate the illustrations and animations that help me learn new movements.

It’s a feature that displays real-time details about the workout you’re logging. The advantage is that you can access it while using another app (and Hevy works in the background) and while your phone is locked.
Monitor your workout duration, rest timer, the current exercise and set, and your previous workout’s performance on that set. You can also mark sets as complete from the live activity widget while using another app or if your phone is locked.
On iOS, swipe down from the top left of the screen. On Android, swipe down from the top of the screen.
Yes. Live activity is available on the free version.
No. You can use live activity whenever you want and only use it to track rest periods and see what the next exercise is. You can input your weights, reps, and RPE (or duration) for each set through the app.
