How to Connect Your Hevy Profile to Hevy Coach
Once your trainer signs up for Hevy Coach (there’s a 30-day free trial), they can send an invitation to the email you’ve used to sign up for the Hevy app. You can see what email you’ve used by going to:
Profile > Settings (gear icon on the top right) > Account > Change Email
(You will be prompted to sign up through the email invitation if you don’t yet have a Hevy app account.)

Accepting your coach’s invitation will generate a new Coach tab inside Hevy. Your trainer will be able to assign training plans, review your performance, and view your progress metrics.
Coach Information & Access
Tap on your trainer’s name at the top of the Coach tab to see their personal information or remove their access from your profile.

Chat With Your Coach
Tap the chat icon on the top right in the Coach tab to access your messages, respond to questions from your trainer, or ask them anything. You can also send them videos and images.
How to Log an Assigned Workout
Navigate to the Coach tab to see the assigned workouts.

You can tap on Program Notes to see the program’s description, along with tips and clarifications:

Below, you can tap on any workout to see the details or edit variables.

Alternatively, tap the blue Start Routine button and log the session set by set.

(Learn more about Hevy’s workout-logging features here.)
Once you finish and save a workout, your trainer will gain instant access to your performance in the Hevy Coach platform, so you don’t need to take extra steps.
Your Coach Can Also Log Workouts For You
The Hevy Coach mobile app lets your trainer see and log your prescribed workouts on their phone while coaching you in person. This means you can leave your phone in the locker room and focus entirely on your training.
The coach app has the same workout-logging functions, including completing sets, inputting weight, reps, RPE, and duration, writing notes, and editing any training variable.

For instance, your coach can swap an exercise if a particular machine at the gym is not available, as well as remove sets, reduce your rest periods, and pair activities into supersets if you’re pressed for time.
Automatically Share Performance & Body Metrics Data
The beauty of using Hevy is that you don’t need to send your coach any training or body composition information manually.
First, as you log workouts, your coach gains instant access to all the data and metrics that matter. They can see everything in Hevy Coach:
- Monitor, edit, and replace your training plan
- Examine each workout you do
- Track your exercise performance on individual lifts
- Track set count per muscle group, duration, volume, and sets on customizable graphs
Second, as you upload body measurements (read about this option here) and progress photos (read about them here), your trainer gains instant access to the platform.
This allows your coach to track your body measurements, see visual improvements, and gain all the necessary insight about your training.
