12 Workout Settings to Customize Your Hevy Experience
You can access these settings while logging a live session (be it by using a saved routine or starting an empty workout). Scroll to the bottom and tap the grey Settings button.
Timer Sound and Volume
Select your preferred timer notification sound. We are partial to the default option, but you can choose several others. You can turn it off or set it to low, normal, or high.
Default Rest Timer
Choose your preferred default rest timer duration. Each time you add a new exercise to a live workout or routine, this will be the default timer, which you can change when necessary.

You can also turn it off if you prefer to rest intuitively.
Previous Workout Values
Choose what previous training values you want to be displayed while logging an exercise:
- Previous performance on the exercise, regardless of when you did it and as part of what routine
- Previous performance from the last time you did that exercise as part of your current routine

The latter option is more context-specific and allows you to compare your previous and current performance more accurately within a specific routine.
Warm-up Calculator
It allows you to add multiple percentage-based warm-up sets to exercises where you lift external weights. Based on the weights you have access to, you can adjust the warm-up formula and your preferred weight plate and dumbbell rounding.

Keep Awake During Workout
Turn on this option to keep your phone from going to sleep during a workout. This makes workout logging more streamlined since you don’t have to unlock it for every set.

Plate Calculator
Use the toggle switch to activate or deactivate the plate calculator feature. When active, it provides guidance on what specific weight plates you must add to the barbell, EZ bar, or short bar to achieve the desired weight.
The process is simple:
Add a barbell or EZ bar exercise to a workout, tap the field under KG or LBS, and write the target load for the set. Select Calculator on the bottom left to open a new menu, where you can select the available weight plates and the bar’s weight.

RPE Tracking
RPE stands for rate of perceived exertion, a scale you can use to log your effort on individual sets. Enabling the option in the settings provides an additional column while logging workouts where you can input a value for any set you want.

Smart Superset Scrolling
Use a toggle button to activate Smart Superset Scrolling. This neat feature automatically scrolls to the next exercise of a superset when you mark one as complete.
For example, if you have bicep curls and tricep extension into a superset, the app will scroll down to the sets for the tricep extension each time you mark a set of bicep curls as complete.
Inline Timer
The inline timer refers to the built-in stopwatch you can use to track the duration of time-based activities like the plank. When enabled, you have a start/pause button for each set under the TIME column, so you don’t need to use an external stopwatch.

Live Personal Record Notification (and Volume)
When you mark a set as complete, Hevy notifies you about new personal records. To enable this feature, click the toggle button and adjust the notification’s volume using the option below.
